Short Biography

Amna Abbas is an aspiring counselor and dedicated mental health professional with a strong academic foundation in psychology and human development. With a passion for both counseling and teaching, she is committed to empowering individuals through emotional support, evidence-based practices, and education.

Amna has gained diverse experience through her work in clinical and academic settings. At Era Medical College & Hospital, Lucknow, she provides compassionate counseling to mothers of patients, helping them manage emotional distress and navigate complex feelings with confidence and clarity. Her ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space allows her clients to feel heard and supported during some of their most vulnerable moments.

During her internship at the District Early Intervention Centre in Aligarh, Amna worked closely with children with disabilities and their families. She conducted assessments and offered counseling to parents, playing a key role in helping them understand their child’s needs and challenges while fostering resilience and hope.

Her academic journey also includes a significant research contribution through her dissertation on screen time, social bonds, and well-being, where she explored how digital behaviors affect mental health and interpersonal relationships among students. This study enhanced her research capabilities and deepened her understanding of psychosocial dynamics in the digital age.
